Everyone wants to know about the flipflops...

Years ago when I was a competitive powerlifter, I discovered that I had a much better connection with the ground - and therefore stronger lifts - in bare feet, and so I began lifting in bare feet all the time.  Well, it seemed pointless to wear shoes to the gym just to take them off so I just started wearing flipflops.  Then when I moved to Florida, I decided to embrace my inner FloridaMan and keep it going!

Tom's Why

Tom understands that true transformation goes beyond the surface. He's passionate about helping people optimize their lives holistically, recognizing the deep connection between mind and body. He approaches each client with empathy and a genuine desire to help them achieve lasting well-being. This is why he's dedicated himself to over 10 years of coaching, constantly studying everything from nutrition and biomechanics to biochemistry and even pharmacology – all so he can provide the most effective and science-backed guidance possible. He knows that real change involves more than just a lifting program and meal plan. It's about understanding the individual, addressing their unique needs, and supporting them in improving all aspects of their well-being, including sleep and stress management. For Tom, it's about empowering his clients to not just reach their goals, but to truly thrive.

My Story

Growing up, I was always active, playing every sport imaginable with my two younger brothers. But it wasn't until my senior year of high school that I discovered my true passion: lifting. That moment sparked a 20+ year journey of exploration into everything related to fitness and well-being – from nutrition and supplements to sleep, stress management, and beyond. I dove into the world of powerlifting, competing for years and achieving multiple 2000+ lb totals. I also found a love for the challenge of strongman, which I still enjoy today, alongside my newest passion, Pickleball! While my background is in engineering (I spent over 13 years in the corporate world), my heart always belonged to coaching. Since 2020, I've been blessed to coach full-time, and there's nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive changes in my clients' lives. My own journey hasn't been without its challenges. I've navigated the confusing world of nutrition, fad diets, and supplements, wrestled with stress and mental health, and overcome my own share of obstacles. Now, I use all of that experience and knowledge to guide you on your own path to success.

Coaching Philosophy

You're unique, and your journey to well-being should be too. I understand that everyone responds differently, progresses at their own pace, and comes from a different starting point. We all know areas where we could improve, but knowing how to get there is the real challenge. Big, sudden changes rarely stick. That's why I focus on small, manageable steps that build into lasting habits and real results. My coaching goes beyond just nutrition and workouts. While I can certainly provide those, I believe true transformation involves a more holistic approach. We'll explore how sleep, stress management, bloodwork analysis, food quality, and even strategic supplementation can play a role in your success. I prefer a smaller roster of clients so I can provide truly dedicated support. When we work together, you'll have my full attention and readily available guidance.
